My name is Ms. Shamalov and I would like to welcome you and your child to second grade! I am looking forward to a great year of learning, fun and adventure with your children!
Our goals as teachers are to make sure your children develop a love for learning that will stay with them throughout their lives. In order to assure your child has the best year with us, we will need to work together as a team. It is very important to be involved in your children's education and growth. Some of the curriculum may be challenging for your children to grasp right away and I ask for you to work with us by encouraging and helping them at home.
Homework Policy: In the beginning of the week I will send home the weeks's homework. Your child will then need to return the completed homework by Friday. Upon checking the homework your child will receive a sticker for their homework chart as well as receive a Dojo point. With a full chart, your child can receive a prize.
Behavior Plan: We use Class Dojo to receive Dojo points for good behavior. However, if a child is misbehaving, they can lose points depending on the their misbehavior. Children can redeem prizes by giving up points (For Example: 50 points to have lunch with the teacher) at any time.
